First Industrial Taps UBS Real Estate Co-Head as Future CEO

Chicago-based industrial real estate platform First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE: FR) has selected Peter E. Baccile to succeed Bruce W. Duncan as the firm’s president and CEO, effective December 1, 2016.

Additionally, Baccile will serve as a member of First Industrial’s board of directors, effective September 29, 2016.

A 30-year industry veteran, Baccile joins First Industrial after having previously served as joint global head of the real estate, lodging and leisure group within UBS Securities’ investment banking division – a position he has held since June 2012.

Preceding UBS, Baccile spent 26 years with J.P. Morgan most recently as vice chairman of J.P. Morgan Securities. In his career, he has been involved in more than $250 billion of capital markets and strategic transactions.

Baccile is a past trustee of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Urban Land Institute (ULI), and currently serves on the board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the University of California (Berkeley). He is also an active member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and The Real Estate Roundtable.

Baccile earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
