National Home Prices Increased 6.9 Percent Year Over Year in January 2017

 

The CoreLogic HPI for January 2017 showed that home prices are off to a good start this year. U.S. home prices increased 6.9 percent from a year ago, and are expected to increase 4.8 percent over the next year. This forecast would put home prices back to their April 2006 peak by the end of this year. The Western states continue to lead the nation in appreciation, with Washington, Oregon, and Colorado having the highest appreciation in January.
