On September 30, 2015, NAR submitted a letter to the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) in response to a paper the AQB released on the difficulties of attracting new appraisers to the business.  NAR urges the AQB to consider alternatives to fulfilling the residential appraisal experience requirements in order to obtain an appraiser’s license.

On March 11, 2016, NAR President Tom Salomone submitted a comment letter to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s (FFIEC) Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act (EGRPRA) review. On March 18, 2016, NAR President Tom Salomone sent a letter to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) concerning the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Single Family Housing Policy Handbook.
